Description:
Author Fran Belin will share her photographic essay and tribute to the mountain people who welcomed her into their lives, and taught her how to live. After living in New York City, Ms. Belin decided to pack up and head for the hills of Southern West Virginia to get “back to the land” in 1971. Her book is a pictorial account of learning to live in a totally unfamiliar landscape with the help of her new neighbors and friends.

Ms. Belin is an accomplished musician, painter, and photographer. Her photographs have been published in The New York Times, The Village Voice, Southern Exposure, Charleston Daily Mail, and Theater 4.
