The New River Family Shelter is holding an Open House for the community at The Haven on Thursday, October 25th from 4-7 pm.

Volunteers will be providing tours of The Haven as well as have information available to learn more about the New River Family Shelter and how you can get involved.

Since 1989 New River Family Shelter (NRFS) has provided emergency housing to families with children. As the only scattered shelter program in the New River Valley, we offer a private, supportive environment for families to recover from a housing crisis. We also connect families to local support programs to address the need for food, clothing, education, and employment. As a community, we can work together to end long-term homelessness and empower families to achieve lasting self-sufficiency.

The Haven is located at 103 Penn Street, SE in Blacksburg.
