The Radford Public Library continues their First Friday of the Month Concert Series with Waltzy the Wonderdog on Friday, November 2nd.

Far from the ballrooms of Vienna, gypsies huddle around a campfire playing waltzes that would make a Bavarian princess faint. Young Argentine couples, their hearts aflame, whirl away in the Buenos Aires breeze. The profound struggle for survival in Russia is relieved by sad sweet strains in three quarter time. In Paris, the cafes still echo the sound of the ’30s, when the accordion reigned and waltzers would hang up their shoes only once the morning light invaded le rive gauche.

Waltz has been adopted and adapted by every culture it’s ever encountered. Explore the diverse world of waltz traditions with Waltzy The Wonderdog.
