Description:
The New River Historical Society and the Fine Arts Center of New River Valley are planning a very special dinner event at Rockwood Manor in Dublin on Saturday, April 27th.

It will be a seated theme dinner called “The Rockwood Civil War Dinner” and will feature author Sharyn McCrumb (in character of course) and period music and food. The moon will be full. Costumes will be optional, but characters will be plentiful!

The Sugar Run band will entertain during dinner. After dinner and desert, the party will move to the new pavilion on the grounds of Rockwood Manor for Sharyn McCrumb’s presentation and book signing.

Sharyn McCrumb is an award-winning writer, best known for her Appalachian “Ballad” novels set in the North Carolina/Tennessee mountains. Her books include the New York Times Best Sellers "She Walks these Hills", "The Rosewood Casket", and "The Ballad of Tom Dooley".

Her novel "Ghost Riders", an account of the Civil War in the mountains of western North Carolina, won the Wilma Dykeman Award for Literature given by the East Tennessee Historical Society and the Audie Award for Best Recorded Book. It was published in a new edition by John. F. Blair Publishers in March of 2012

Tickets for the dinner can be purchased at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley or at the Wilderness Road Regional Museum.
