Description:
The Blacksburg Community Strings under the baton of Ake-Eric Renqvist will be "Dancing Into Spring" on Saturday, May 11th in the Squires Recital Salon at Virginia Tech, starting at 7:30 p.m., admission is free and the public is welcome.
The concert features Solo Flute Mary Walters and Solo Clarinet Mary Keffer performing "Tarantelle" by Saint-Saens. Grieg's "Holberg Suite" (more dances--Sarabande, Gavotte, and Rigaudon), and "Valse Triste" by Sibelius are included in the program. Symphony #25 by Mozart is featured and of course it has a dance movement, the Minuetto and Trio.
