Description:
The Jacksonville Center for the Arts offers a two day class Painting Pets and Wildlife with Gretchen St. Lawerence on Saturdays, August 10th and 17th from 9-12:30 pm.
Class Description:
Come on, pet lovers, and join a group learning to draw and paint our furry and feathered family members! No not on them (silly). Work in your own medium while learning about correct proportions for portraits and how to bring out the life force and personality of the animals on paper and canvas. Gretchen will also discuss best practices for photographing pets.
Students will start with a practice pet portrait to learn about resizing for the correct proportions of a portrait. Soon students will be painting a pet of their choice from a photo. Though students should bring materials for working with their medium of choice, there will also be some additional materials available for experimentation. Please bring your own supplies and paper although Gretchen will have some paper, pastels and colored pencils for you to experiment. She will also have numerous images available for you to practice.
Materials Fee: $0
Minimum Enrollment, 3: Maximum Enrollment, 20
Minimum Age: Responsible Young Adult
