The Blacksburg Historic Lecture Series goes on the road for their May event to the Dublin Presbyterian Church on Thursday, May 16th.
The New Dublin Presbyterian Church is named for the lost community of New Dublin, which was two miles from Ingles Ferry and the old Wilderness Road. A log structure was built in 1769 and the present stucco and brick building was constructed in 1875. The adjacent church cemetery holds the graves of several Civil War soldiers.
Directions:
Take Route 11 to Route 100 West in Dublin towards New River Community College. Go past the college and about one mile on the right is a little hanging sign listing New Dublin. Turn there and follow the road back to the church.
The Dublin Presbyterian Church is located at 5331 New Dublin Church Road in Dublin, Virginia.
The Historic Lecture Series is cosponsored by the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation and Historic Smithfield Plantation.
