Historic Smithfield Plantation will be holding a small Memorial Day Dedication and Ceremony in the Preston's Cemetery on Monday, May 27th.

The ceremony will include the reading of a wonderful poem written to commemorate the death of Colonel William Preston that was recently rediscovered along with a short history of the importance of Memorial Day.

All are invited to attend the ceremony and join in placing flags and flowers on the soldiers' graves within the Preston's Cemetery.

Free house tours will follow for those attending the ceremony.
