Our Daily Bread welcomes Tom Cooper to the stage for their Rise N Shine Concert Series.

Tom Cooper has always made music. In the earlier part of his life, he played with bands and by himself, traveling from Ohio to California and everywhere in between. But when the dream of living from music alone fizzled, he didn’t quit. For most of his life, he has been building a collection of songs written at night at bars or while sitting at the cafe in Paris while he spent his days behind a desk. Music has always been his passion but the course of his life took him elsewhere.

It took a horrific tragedy, the passing of his wife, to put Tom on the path he was always meant to take; to pick up his guitar again, dust off a lifetime of songs and commit to sharing his music with the world. Music is his therapy. With the loss of his wife, his devotion has shifted to a new focus and he pours his soul, his hopes, and his sorrow fully into his sound.??

His musical influences are as numerous and varied as his previous careers. Drawing inspiration from elements of soul and blues, Leonard Cohen and Jimmy Webb, Lennon and McCartney, to his classic country vocal style, like Johnny Cash, Patsy Kline, Hank Williams, Buck Owens, his music is shaped by the artists of his past experiences and a vision of his future.
