Description:
The Palisades Restaurant is hosting a Father's Day Bash event on Sunday, June 16th from 11 am until 6 pm in front of the Old Eggleston High School located on Old Schoolhouse Road about 1/2 mile from the Palisades.

This first ever food and music festival features Former White House Chef Walter Scheib, live bluegrass music, a special children's area and performances from Big Nazo.

Chef Walter Scheib who is teaming up again with The Palisades Restaurant following two appearances at their Celebrity Chef Tour in 2010 and 2011. He will be serving a Father’s Day feast fit for a President of barbecued ribs with firecracker dipping sauce, fiesta jalapeno lemon barbecued chicken, beef and pork sliders, herb potato salad, veggie kabobs and much, much more.

In addition to Chef Scheib’s Father’s Day menu, the event includes live bluegrass music throughout the day by Liam Kelly, Sugar Run, Hans Creek and the Giles Mountain String Band. The dedicated children’s area features Play-doh making, cookie decorating and face painting. And as a special treat, the internationally recognized performance group of artists, musicians and puppeteers, Big Nazo, will entertain the crowd with their hilarious larger-than-life sized characters and spectacles.

Chef Scheib was the White House Executive Chef from 1994 until 2005 and is known for his creation of a distinctly American cuisine for the White House. Originally at the Greenbrier Resort, Chef Scheib was recruited to DC where his duties included preparing all menus and meals for the First Family and their private entertaining, as well as, official and state functions of the Presidency. After 11 years, Chef Scheib left the White House and wrote his first cookbook, "The American Chef".

Big Nazo is a performance group headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island. Erminio Pinque, who is both the founder and artistic designer of Big Nazo, envisioned his concept of a puppet show without the stage. Big Nazo, which derives its name from "big nose" in Italian, has made appearances around the world, including at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada and the 1998 World Exposition in Lisbon, Portugal. Big Nazo also runs a "creature class" in conjunction with the Film and Video Department at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Food is available for purchase and proceeds from the sale of beer, wine and soft drinks benefit the Giles Animal Rescue Fund and the Eggleston Fire Department. No tickets are advance reservations necessary.
