Description:
The 11th Annual Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention will be held on Friday, June 14th and Saturday, June 15th at Glen Lyn Park in Glen Lyn, Virginia.

This festival honors the life and music of local old-time fiddler Henry Reed!

Friday's activities will officially began at 5 pm and will start with a set of featured bands including the Reed Family Band with Alan Jabbour, The Jugbusters and Hans Creek String Band.

The Reed Family Band will kick things off and then there will be two sets from both featured bands: The Jugbusters and Hans Creek String Band.

Individual and band competitions will be held on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 pm. Individual competitions categories include Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Bass, Dulcimer, Harmonica, Dobro, Dance, Folk Song and Banjo-Fiddle Duet. The evening will conclude with the Old-time Band and Bluegrass Band Competitions.

Additionally, Alan Jabbour will offer a two day fiddle workshop from 10 am - 12 pm on Friday and Saturday mornings.

There is plenty of camping space available on-site as well as electricity and there will be an assortment of fun-filled music and river-related activities available.

Vendors and food will be available for purchase on-site.

The Glen Lyn Town Park is located in Glen Lyn (near the Virginia/West Virginia border in Giles County) on Virginia Avenue.
