Virginia Tech's Kentland Farm is hosting an Open House and Farm Tours on Friday, June 21st.
Stop by the farm between 1 and 3 PM to take a farm tour, meet the folks working at the farm this summer, participate in an arts and craft project and catch a peak of what we've been up to the last few weeks.
Virginia Tech Dining Services, in collaboration with the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences is farming and growing produce to be served in Virginia Tech Dining Halls. We're currently farming a little more than 3 acres and the Farm is bustling! Dining Services staff have started working summer hours at the farm and are getting plants in the ground.
Directions to Kentland Farm:
- Take Prices Fork Road going away from campus.
- Continue for about 3 miles; make a right on McCoy Road.
- Continue for about 3 miles; make a left on Whitethorne Road. This turn will come quickly at the bottom of a steep hill.
- Take the first entrance to the farm on the right (just before the official entrance at the office building). This is the right turn BEFORE the bridge.
- Follow the dirt/gravel road to the garden plots. Park near other cars underneath the shade trees.
