Description:
Join USDA Forest Service Representative Daniel Pruden and his guest speaker Derek Wheaton for a Nature Walk discussing Native Fish at Pandapas Pond on Saturday, June 28th at 10 am.
Derek Wheaton, from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, will be using waders and nets to collect and identify some of the fish in the pond. Afterward, everyone can make a fish print to take home. Meet at the amphitheater near the restroom.
This walk is free and open to the public.
Our programs are geared to the age of the attendees as much as possible. Currently most of our attendees are 6 and younger.
The purpose of our nature programs is to provide an interactive learning situation for both children and parents. We want the children to learn, have fun and have their parent’s full attention while here. This will not only enhance the learning of your own child, it will help provide a learning environment for all children present. So, please sit with and interact with your child as he or she discovers things.
Pandapas Pond is about 15 minutes northwest of Blacksburg, Virginia and located off of US-460.
