Join Claytor Lake State Park staff at the gravel overflow parking lot on the right just past the Park Contact Station for a meander along Shady Ridge Trail during our quest for salamanders every Tuesday through September 3, 2013 at 9 am.

We will uncover one of Appalachia's most abundant and scarcely seen animals from their moist forest floor homes. Uncover the tiny and mysterious creatures that outweigh any other.

We suggest that participants wear closed toed shoes, outdoor appropriate clothing, sunscreen, bug spray, and bring plenty of water.
