Description:
Montgomery County Parks & Rec and Back Country Ski and Sport present the 4th Annual New River Paddle Fishing Tournament on Saturday, July 20th along the New River from Whitethorne, Virginia to Eggleston, Virginia.

There will be a Men’s Spinning Category, Women’s Spinning Category, Fly Category, Junior Category (16 and under), and the Midnight Musky Challenge. The Midnight Musky Challenge begins at 5:00pm on Friday July 19th, and ends at the weigh-in on Saturday July 20th at 3:00pm. The Challenge is open to anyone brave enough to attempt, and costs an additional $10 entry. There are 1000's of dollars in prizes to be won by all categories including boats, paddles, and tons and tons of gear!

Schedule:
Friday, July 19th:
- 5:00 pm – Check In and Camping Begins
- 5:00 pm – Midnight Musky Challenge Begins

Saturday, July 20th:
- 5:00 am – Check In Resumes
- 5:15 am – Captains Meeting
- 5:30 am – Tournament Start Time
- 10:30 am – Check In Ends
- 3:00 pm – Photo Weigh-In Deadline
- 3:00 pm ~ 4:00 pm – Barbecue Dinner
- 5:00 pm – Awards Ceremony and Raffle

Sunday, July 21st:
- 12:00 pm – Camping Ends and Gate Locked

Registration includes: Tournament Entry, T-shirt, Shuttle, 2 Nights of Camping, BBQ Dinner and Entry into raffle for a boat.

To register for the tournament, return a filled out Tournament Registration Form to either Back Country location, drop by a store to register in person, or call Montgomery County Parks and Rec at (540) 382-6975 to register by phone.

Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure a spot in the tournament; entries will be limited this year for the enjoyment of all participants.
