NOTE: Due to the inclement weather, the Jamboree has been cancelled for tonight.

The Newport Jamboree continues the 2013 season with bluegrass bands County Connection and Indian Run Stringband on Saturday, July 26th at the Newport Recreation Center.

County Connection is a four piece bluegrass band from Southwest Virginia with Pam Landreth on bass, Frank Garman on guitar, Garry Williams on banjo and Melvin Linkous on fiddle.

Indian Run Stringband playing fiddle and banjo foot stomping dance tunes and singing traditional songs with old timey harmonies perfect for dancing the two step.

The local Ruritan chapter will be selling concessions including hot dogs, popcorn and drinks and be sure to bring a lawn chair.

We will ask for a $5.00 donation from each adult to cover the bands and park fee. Kids under 12 get in free.

The Village of Newport Ruritan Park is conveniently located 1.4 miles down route 42--keep your eyes peeled for the signs off of 460 West.
