Description:
The 32nd Annual Draper Mile road races will be held on Friday, August 2nd in Blacksburg as part of the Steppin' Out festivities.

The Draper Mile is a one-mile road race held in conjunction with the Downtown Blacksburg’s Steppin’ Out Festival. The course is mostly downhill, starting and ending on Draper Road in Blacksburg, with the finish in the middle of the street festival. There are races for children, both qualified males and females and an open mile run.

Schedule:
• 6:20 pm - Children's Fun Run (Starts at Corner of Kent Square Parking Garages. For Children 8 & Under. No registration required.)

• 6:30 pm - Mile Race (Males that have run faster than 6:15 and females faster than 7:15 are eligible for the Draper Mile Race.)

• 6:40 pm - Open Mile Run (Open to anyone 8 and over)

Times are about 10–12 seconds faster than for a track mile. The start is near the Draper and Country Club Road intersection and the finish is at Jackson Street in downtown Blacksburg.

Early registration is available until Thursday, August 1st if received at Mish Mish or Runabout Sports or $25 on the event day.

Day-of-Race registration and packet pick-up is from 10 am to 5:30 pm at the registration table near the back-door to Mish Mish on Jackson Street.

Note: If your child plans on participating in the Children's Fun Run they need to meet at 6:10 pm at the start of the race to get their instructions.
