Gillie's welcomes Rivertown Gypsies to the stage on Thursday, August 15th.

Rivertown Gypsies are the husband and wife duo of Shane and Lynda Allen, playing a soulful blend of acoustic rock and blues. The duo's impassioned vocals that at times evolve into stirring harmonies, leave their audiences with a deep sense of the kindred soul these two share, and combined with Shane's expressive and articulate guitar playing is a powerful, but yet soothing experience.

Shane has played in several projects throughout his musical career. He did a stint with local favorites Steel Pterodactyl, he was a founding member of the rock group Dyna-flow, and most recently was the founder and driving force behind the band Soul Stone Overdrive (SSO). When some of SSO's band members left the band, he decided it was time to try something a bit different.

Going back to some of his musical roots, he encouraged his wife, Lynda, to join him on a few tunes for an acoustic show. The response was overwhelming and was the motivation for him to convince, Lynda, who had always been content working in the background to promote his music, to join him on stage full-time, and at that point Rivertown Gypsies was born.
