The Virginia Center for Civil War Studies presents Screening and Lecture: “Death and Dying in the American Civil War: Mercy Street" on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Lyric Theatre.
A lecture and screening with award-winning historian Dr. Shauna Devine, historical consultant for the hit PBS series “Mercy Street,” at the Lyric Theatre.
Dr. Devine will not only highlight the role death in the show, through clips and discussion, but also her interesting experience as a historical consultant for PBS.
This lecture is co-sponsored by Virginia Tech’s 2016-2017 Women and Minority Artists and Scholars Lecture Series.
The Lyric Theatre is located at 135 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA.
