The Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech presents the Itraab Ensemble in concert on Sunday, May 7, 2017 inside The Cube.
The ensemble, which is open to participation for students and community members alike, is under the direction of Anne Elise Thomas, ethnomusicologist, and explores the rhythms and techniques of Arabic music.
The program will include traditional Arabic songs, accompanied by percussion, qanun (78-string zither), `ud (11-string lute), violin, cello, ney (end-blown flute), accordion, viola, and voice.
Admission is free however tickets are required.
