The Science Museum of Western Virginia presents the June 2017 STEM Tavern on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Soaring Ridge Brewery in Roanoke, VA.

What makes a talk about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) even more entertaining? Why, beer of course!

John Goss presents “The Celestial Event of a Generation”. This is the second in a series of events where you can investigate and celebrate the Great American Eclipse which is happening on August 21, 2017! This eclipse has also been labeled as the Sky Event of the Decade.

"A miss is as good as a mile; totality is the name of the game. Much will be made of the coming solar eclipse on the afternoon of August 21. What is all the fuss about? What can we see from Roanoke and elsewhere? What does it all mean?"

Join our monthly STEM Tavern that features a fascinating science presentation plus good beer. For each beer sold at STEM Tavern, Soaring Ridge Craft Brewers will make a donation to the Science Museum of Western Virginia! A food truck will also be on hand.

Join us on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm at Soaring Ridge Craft Brewers located at 523 Shenandoah Avenue in Roanoke, VA.

Talks begin at 6:00 pm.
