The Radford University Planetarium presents the current Sky Tour and the program "Violent Universe: Catastrophes of the Cosmos" on Friday, July 28, 2017.
The show is narrated by Sir Patrick Stewart, and tells the stories of comets, asteroids, and meteors hurtling through space, stars collapsing under their own gravity, and infernos of nuclear energy releasing their deadly radiation across the universe. Visitors will see the raw power of the cosmos in this thrilling show that gives you a front-row seat to watch as worlds collide!
This show is produced by Evans & Sutherland.
“Violent Universe” is most appropriate for ages 8 and up, and is a thrill-a-minute adventure!
All shows start with a tour of the nighttime sky as well as some other amazing sights in space using our full-dome Digistar 5 projection system. Many of these are following by a professionally produced dull-dome multimedia shows on various exciting astronomical topics.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
