The 36th Annual Draper Mile road race will held in downtown Blacksburg, VA on Friday, August 4, 2017.

The Draper Mile is a one-mile road race held in conjunction with the Downtown Blacksburg’s Steppin’ Out Festival, an annual event held during the first weekend in August. The course is mostly downhill, starting and ending on Draper Road in Blacksburg, with the finish in the middle of the street festival.

Note: Times are about 10–12 seconds faster than for a track mile.

Schedule of Races:
• 6:25 pm - Kid’s Fun Run (ages 8 and under) *
• 6:30 pm - Men’s Elite Race (6:00 minute entry standard)
• 6:35 pm - Women’s Elite Race (7:00 minute entry standard)
• 6:40 pm - Open Race (ages 7+)
• ~7:20 pm - Awards

* Note: The Kid's Fun Run requires no registration. Just meet at the corner of the Kent Square Parking Garage at 6:10 pm.

Packet pickup will be available at RunAbout Sports on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4-8 pm. On race day, packet pickup will be available at Steppin' Out from 10 am until 5:30 pm on Jackson Street behind Mish Mish.

The top three overall finishers for both men and women will receive awards as well as the top three finishers in each age group.
