The Artful Lawyer presents Blacksburg en Blanc 2017 on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at a to-be-announced surprise location for registered guests.

Join us for another surprise summer picnic! We'll provide the venue, tents, tables, chairs, festive lighting, tablecloths and live entertainment along with other surprises throughout the evening. You plan the food specifics with your group, don your whites and come party with us!

Venue to be announced the day of the event via email!

What Guests Need to Bring:
• White attire is strongly preferred
• Gourmet picnic dinner packed in a picnic basket, tote or cooler
• Wine, champagne and/or soft drinks (drinks do not need to be white)
• Your ID if you are consuming alcohol
• White place settings / tableware
• Flatware and Serving pieces
• Fine stemware
• White cloth napkins
• 1-2 garbage bags to clean up your picnic items

Please arrive promptly at 5 pm.

Pour champagne — or your drink of choice — and toast your neighbors! Dinner will start with the traditional waving of the white napkins. Enthusiastic sharing with your neighboring diners is encouraged.

Blacksburg en Blanc builds on the tradition started in Paris 28 years ago by François Pasquier who invited a few friends to the Bois de Boulogne one day in June for an impromptu picnic. To find each other quickly in the park, they all wore white. The dinner was such a success that they decided that the next year each person would invite new friends. Over the years, and throughout many countries, this impromptu picnic has become an annual tradition, with over 11,000 people attending in the bigger cities. Friends gather together, dressed in white, for a spontaneous night out — for the location is not disclosed until moments before they arrive.
