The 7th annual Claytor Lake Triathlon will be held at the beautiful Claytor Lake State Park on Saturday, September 9, 2017.

The triathlon offers warm water, a scorching bike course and a cool trail run. Come for the race and stay for the party!

The Claytor Lake Triathlon includes:
• 500 meter swim
• 12.5 mile bike
• 5K run

The race starts in the water at the beach near the bathhouse facing the lake.

In addition to the triathlon, the will also be a Duathlon race featuring a 12 mile bike ride and 3 mile run and an Aquabike race featuring a 500 yard swim and 12 mile bike ride.

Register by August 18, 2017 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. After that it will be first come first serve to the remaining shirts.

Spectators are welcome along the course within marked off areas. Please do not cross the course or impede the progress of participants at any time.

The post race meal will feature pizza, munchies, cookies, sports and soft drinks.

Proceeds benefit the Claytor Lake State Park Ambassadors (CLSPA). The mission of the group is to act as a non-profit citizen support organization assisting in conserving the natural, cultural, scenic, and recreational resources of Claytor Lake State Park and in providing a variety of recreational and educational opportunities as well as promoting environmental stewardship.

There is plenty of parking just follow the signs.

Early packet pick-up will be held at the Bike Barn, located at 422 North Main Street in Blacksburg VA) on the Friday before the event from 4-6 pm. There is parking in the rear of store.
