Description:
Blacksburg Host Lions Club and Delta Gamma Sorority of Virginia Tech present the 2017 Dog Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, November 11, 2017 starting at the Duck Pond.

The Dog Walk-a-Thon supports the local Lions Club Sight Conservation Projects and the training of an assist dog through the Leader Dogs for the Blind program as well as Delta Gamma's sight projects.

The distance of the Dog Walk-a-Thon is around three kilometers and starts from just west of the Duck Pond to Hethwood Gazebo and back again. Participants can choose to do any distance they are comfortable with.

Dog biscuits and water are available at two stops along the way with free hot chocolate and coffee for the walkers.

Donations will be accepted and participants are encouraged to find sponsors to donate to their walk.

Enjoy good, crisp fall weather to exercise both the walkers and dogs.

Dogs must be on leashes at all time and a current rabies vaccination is required.

Note: Dogs are not required to participate in the walk.
