The Blacksburg Community Strings present their 2017 Fall Concert on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Blacksburg Middle School.
The Blacksburg Community Strings program includes Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 performed by guest cellist David Smith, "For the Star of County Down", Bach's Concerto for 3 Violins, and "Five Variants of 'Dives and Lazarus'".
No tickets and admission is free, though we'll be grateful for any donations.
The Blacksburg Community Strings (BCS), a community ensemble of violin, viola, cello and string bass players, was formed in October 1999 and had its debut public performance in December 1999. It is made up of middle and high school students, avocational community players, and active and retired professionals.
BCS welcomes string players of all ages and abilities from Blacksburg and the surrounding region. All members are volunteers. There are no dues or fees. No auditions are required. Requirements: Your love of music and your willingness to work hard!
