New River Stage presents "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson with performances starting on Saturday, April 28, 2018 and continuing through Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Warm Hearth Village Center.

Enjoy this fresh take on an old classic, adapted by Byrony Lavery. This reimagined production of Robert Lewis Stevenson’s classic tale is a story of the cleverness of children. While often pegged as a story for boys, this retelling balances the gender scale while staying true to the original narrative. Jim Hawkins becomes Jimima, a young girl fighting both the rules of society and bloodthirsty pirates.
It’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the innkeeper’s granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in and her dangerous voyage begins.
Admission is $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for students and seniors.
