Description:
The United Way of Montgomery, Radford and Floyd’s presents their 9th Annual Stuff the Bus 2018 School Supply Drive on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Walmart Supercenter in Christiansburg, VA.
Stuff the Bus is a school supply drive for children in need in the New River Valley. On this day, the community is urged to “stuff the bus” with school supply donations to send local children back to school prepared to learn. Three school buses from Montgomery County, Radford City, and Floyd County will be parked at Walmart and participants can pick the bus and area they want to donate to. Please come by and purchase some supplies!

All items received in a specific community will be distributed to children in need within that community. All donations stay local to serve the needs of local children. Distribution of the school supplies this year will be through local partner charities and through partnering with local school systems to provide supplies for teachers who identify student needs.
In 2017, residents across the New River Valley donated over 9,000 items and served 604 children. Although last year’s Stuff the Bus campaign was a huge success, more children need our help. Please join us in our efforts to provide school supplies for children in our community, in hopes we will reach more children and help more families this year.
Additionally, eight locations throughout the community will have drop bins available for donations throughout July and ending on Monday, July 31st.
Those locations are:
• Montgomery: Kroger on South Main Street in Blacksburg and Dollar General in Riner
• Radford: Radford Public Library, Thai This and Taylor Office Supply
• Floyd: Floyd Tourism and Chamber of Commerce Office and Slaughter’s Supermarket
