Alexander Black House & Cultural Center presents a Meet the Artist Reception with Teri Hoover on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Teri Hoover is sustained and strengthened by insights gathered from being outdoors. As a portrait photographer for 30 years, she sees best with a bit of fresh air. Her photographic portraits allow the sweet range of human emotions to unfold and has been one of her greatest joys.
"With These Hands" is a community project consisting of 230 black and white photographs of hands. Participants are individuals living and working in Blacksburg and the New River Valley. The wide spectrum of participants include teachers, artists, students, musicians, librarians, doctors, scientists, gardeners, advocates and one furry cheer enthusiast.
The exhibit will be on display from August 1 to September 10, 2018, from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Tuesday - Saturday.
