Description:
The Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) and the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech presents Cube Fest 2018 with a performance by Christopher Willits on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

Grammy-nominated guitarist and producer Christopher Willits occupies a unique corner of the music universe—hovering above the intersection of electronic production's nuts and bolts and a wide-open creative mind. He has produced more than 25 albums in the last 15 years and is the co-founder of spatial audio/3D sound platform Envelop as well as the creative collective Overlap.

Often overlapping with earth-inspired photos and videos he creates, Willits’ music has forged a world-wide audience that listens intently. Pioneering solo albums on 12k and Ghostly International, along with collaborations with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Tycho, Zach Hill, and many others, has created a prolific and diverse catalog of sound. Willits is also the director and co-founder of Envelop, a non-profit organization with a mission to amplify the unifying power of music through immersive listening spaces and spatial audio production software.

As an experienced educator, he strives to illuminate people’s vision and creativity in music, art and life, and has lectured at many leading institutions in the world. Willits also teaches meditation techniques that often accompany his music.

Admission is $10.00 for the general public and free for Virginia Tech students.
