Description:
Science on Tap New River Valley presents "Old Dog? New Tricks! Animal Behavior and Training on Tap" on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Rising Silo Brewery in Blacksburg, VA.
Have you been working like a dog? Living a dog's life? Are your dogs barking?
Well, let sleeping dogs lie and join us for Science on Tap with animal behaviorist Erica Feuerbacher of Virginia Tech's Animal and Poultry Science, and her four-year-old German Sheperd Iorek for demos and discusion. Erica focuses on domestic dog behavior, welfare, and training, and examines strategies to reduce stress in shelter dogs. Learn about dog behavior and effective and humane training techniques to use at home.
This event is free and open to the public.
Science On Tap New River Valley community celebrates scientific thought and explores new discoveries through monthly events with a featured researcher. We kick off the event with games, comedy, or other fun things. Then, an invited guest researcher demos their research. And then we'll discuss, ask questions, learn together, and mingle.
