Description:
Virginia Tech Baseball presents the 11th Annual Baseball Night in Blacksburg with former Major League Baseball player and current analyst Billy Ripken as the special guest speaker on Friday, February 1, 2019 inside West Side Stadium Club in Lane Stadium.

The program includes a Bull & Bones catered dinner, beer, wine, soft drinks, silent auction and remarks from featured speaker Billy Ripken.

Billy Ripken currently serves as a radio host for XM Satellite Radio and a studio analyst for MLB Network. He played in the Major Leagues for 12 seasons, which included seven seasons with the Baltimore Orioles and three years with the Texas Rangers and one season each with the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers. A career .247 hitter, he batted .308 in 58 games his rookie season and enjoyed his best season in 1990 with the Orioles, batting a team-best .291 in 129 games, with 118 hits, including 28 doubles and three home runs, 48 runs and 38 RBI. Ripken recorded the first RBI in interleague history and has the 22nd-best all-time fielding percentage of major league second basemen at .987.

Tickets are $75.00 for adults and $20.00 for Virginia Tech students and youth ages 13 and under.

All proceeds of the auction and banquet go to Virginia Tech baseball and the Hokies' efforts to improve various aspects of their program.
