Description:
The Blacksburg Striders and Runabout Sports present the 34th annual Blacksburg Classic 10 Mile, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will occur on February 11th, 2018 starting and finishing at Margaret Beeks Elementary School in Blacksburg, VA.

Schedule:
• 10:00 am - 12:45 pm: Race Day Pickup & Registration
• 12:30 pm: Free Fun Run Mile
• 12:45 pm: Valentine's Day Costume Contest (Inside School Gym)
• 1:00 pm: 10 miler and 5k start
• ~2:15 pm: 5k Awards
• ~3:00 pm: 10 Miler Awards

Join us for the first race of the 2019 RunAbout Race Series. It is the 34th year of the Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler and 5K! A one-mile fun run will also take place, fun for the whole family! There is also a fastest married couple contest in the 10 Mile race and a best costume with a Valentine's Day theme.

All miles will be marked. Water will be available on both courses.

All 10 Miler Finishers will receive a finisher medal. All Fun Run finishers will receive a medal.

Race shirts are guaranteed to all who register before January 28, 2019.
Extra shirts will be printed to the best of our abilities and calculations, but due to printing time constraints we can only guarantee a shirt to those who register before the deadline.

Registration can be made online, by mail or in person at Runabout Sports located at 1470 South Main Street, Suite #100 in Blacksburg, VA within the First & Main Shopping Center.

The race courses utilize residential roads and the Huckleberry trail. The 5K is run through a neighborhood and enters the trail after two miles. From thereon, all but the final 200 yards is on the trail. The 10 Mile follows the 5K course through the neighborhood, adds on some more residential running, before entering the Huckleberry trail at around four miles. The remaining six miles (except for the final sprint to the finish) is on the Huckleberry Trail.

Free food and beverages will be provided for runners after the race at race headquarters. Awards ceremony and drawings for door prizes will follow as soon as possible after each race.
