Description:
The Floyd County BackPack Program presents the 12th Annual Floyd Empty Bowls Fundraiser on Sunday, April 28, 20189 at Floyd County High School.

Come for some great food, a beautiful pottery bowl to take home, live local music, silent auction and great community fellowship all to support the Floyd County Weekend Backpack Program, a program of New River Community Action (NRCA).

Tickets include a handmade bowl to keep, homemade soup, bread, cookies and beverage.

The cost is $15.00 for adults and $18.00 at the door. Children ages 6-12 are $5.00 and ages 5 and under are free.

The New River Community Action Floyd County BackPack Program helps eligible school children receive nutritious, easy-to-prepare food they need for the weekends. Each week NRCA volunteers purchase, pack, and deliver the food to the five Floyd County schools and NRCA’s Head Start Program. School staff then discretely distribute the food to participating children.

The handcrafted bowls were donated by potters from Floyd County and the Blue Ridge Potters Guild. Soup, bread and desserts provided courtesy of local cooks and restaurants.
