The Giles County Film Office presents Giles County Film Screening Night 2 on Friday, April 26, 2019 inside at Castle Rock Golf Club's 19th Hole in Pembroke, VA.

Giles County is Virginia’s Mountain Playground™. It is also the place to play, stay, love, and enjoy and that is just what will be showcased at the second Giles Community Film Screening Night. Many film and productions crews have found Giles to be a special place to work including feature films like "Dirty Dancing" and "Wish You Well" and TV shows like "Finding Bigfoot".

The evening kicks off with a fun red carpet complete with paparazzi and fun photo booth starting at 6:30 pm. Screenings and the program starts at 7:00 pm featuring local filmmakers and their works and will also include an update on the Community Film Project by coordinator Jim Ellis and how all guests can be involved in capturing Giles as the place to stay, play, love, and enjoy. The evening wraps up with a Q&A Session.

The premier of "The Boys Who Killed Bloodsuckers" will be the feature of the evening. The local production team and crew are from the New River Valley with strong ties to Giles County. This dark comedy, horror project was written, directed and produced by Justin Smith.

Audience members will also be treated to see the Black Dispatch trailer. This project was filmed in Giles and Montgomery Counties. This Civil War period piece follows “Sable, a Confederate engineer's house slave, risks everything by stealing military plans, in hopes of delivering them to the Union Army and earning her and her family’s freedom.” Directed by Shea Sizemore and produced by Chip White.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase.
