Description:
622 North presents a Welcome Back Students Spelling Bee for Ages 21 & Up on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 starting at 8:00 pm.
Since it is the start of the semester, we are going to give away huge prizes to the winners of each round. The winner of the first round will receive a Devils Backbone Hammock and the winner of the second round will win a Pear Lager Pool Float!
622 North has partnered with Devils Backbone Brewery to make the event even more fun! Once a month a Devils Backbone rep will be on hand to talk about their product and there will be some awesome Devils Backbone swag to give away to the winning spellers.
Participants need to arrive and sign-up by 7:00 pm to organize the event and the Spelling Bee will start at 8:00 pm. It's free to enter.
All Participants will be seated on the stage and given a dry-erase board from the host. The host will read all of the participants the same word and all participants will write their version of the "proper spelling" on their dry-erase board. The participants will then show the audience their version of the word and all of those who have spelled the word correctly will move on.
Words will start at ~3rd Grade level and get progressively harder. Rounds will continue until there is a first place champion. If multiple people get eliminated in the same round at the end, we will re-do the round to determine a champion.
Gift cards and brewery swag will be awarded to the top three contestants.
This is an individual competition. No groups or teams allowed.
