The 42nd Annual Highland Summer Writers' Conference presents a free evening reading with their visiting author Tim Poland on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Radford University's McConnell Library.

Tim Poland will be reading from his novel, "Yellow Stonefly".

Tim Poland grew up in Ohio and now lives and works in the New River Valley near the Blue Ridge Mountains in southwestern Virginia. He is the author of two novels, "Yellow Stonefly," forthcoming from Swallow Press in October of 2018, and "The Safety of Deeper Water" (2009). Two earlier books are "Escapee" (2001), a collection of short fiction, and "Other Stones, Kinder Temples" (2008), a chapbook of poems. His work has also appeared in a wide variety literary magazines. He is Professor Emeritus of English at Radford University.

The Highland Summer Writers' Conference is a one-week intensive workshop offered annually by Radford University that is team-taught by well-known guest writers. It offers the opportunity to study and practice creative and expository writing within the context of regional culture.
