Crimper's Climbing Gym and The North Face are partnering to celebrate Global Climbing Day 2019 to share the sport of climbing on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Climbing is a unique sport that is has inherent dangers, but is also an incredible sport that builds self-confidence, balance, and strength.

"If you have never climbed, at Crimper’s we will be offering free climbing. If you have been to Crimper’s, we are offering half day-price day-passes and rentals for all guests," said John H. Johnson, CEO of Crimper’s.

In order to receive free climbing, new climbers must register in advance for one of the Orientation Classes online at https://app.rockgympro.com/b/widget/?a=offering&offering_guid=738def8ae796425085dae08fddba342f&random=5d59c4e3d5fdd&iframeid=&mode=p.

Free entry is available from 12:00-4:00 pm and youngsters must be at least 5 years old to climb.

Crimper’s Climbing Gym has also added new climbing areas to the indoor climbing gym. The new climbing walls provide more bouldering, top-roping, and climbing-specific training areas.

“We name all of our climbing walls,” he said “Our new top-rope wall is called Godzilla. Our new bouldering wall is Tsunami and is located right beside our Wave wall. Our new purple wall, which greets everybody at the door, is the Pride Wall. In the training area we have upgraded with a new campus board, a Tension board, and the Splash wall, which is a project wall. Both the Tension Board and the Splash wall have apps that you can download on your phone to use while training.”

And, if you want to take your climbing to the next level, Crimper’s will be offering two free top-rope belay classes for ages 14 & above starting at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
