The Virginia Tech Union and Virginia Tech Class of 2021 present the Welcome Home Kickoff Concert featuring Kate Bollinger, Daddy's Beemer and Fordson Labs on Friday, August 30, 2019 on the Virginia Tech Drillfield.

Kate Bollinger is a Charlottesville, Virginia based musician.

Kate Bollinger grew up singing with her mother, a music therapist, and following her older brothers around as they worked on musical projects in the basement of their childhood home. She first began releasing self-recorded songs on Soundcloud in 2013 and began playing shows around Charlottesville shortly thereafter. After years of recording, releasing, and distributing CD demos to friends around town, she released her first official EP, “KEY WEST,” on Bandcamp in October of 2017.

Daddy's Beemer is a three-piece rock band based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since their formation in 2016, the band made up of Brady Sklar (guitar/vocals), Wesley Heaton (bass/vocals), Dan Fetterolf (drums/vocals), and formerly Luke Waldrop (guitar) has released two critically acclaimed EPs. Buzzing from the reception of their self titled and Pucker EPs,

They are Eastern United States and share the stage with notable acts such as Elf Power, The Artisanals, Camp Howard, *Repeat Repeat, and many more. Daddy’s Beemer now aims their sights towards more extensive touring and their first full length record in the coming years.

Fordson Labs is a hip hop duo made up of Coleman Greene and Carter Ward based in Richmond, Virginia.

Since 2015, Richmond based hip-hop duo Fordson Labs has been bringing an organic approach to a new era of rap. The group, comprised of emcee and producer The Cartier, and emcee King Cole, combines live instrumentation and sample culture with thoughtful lyrics and vibrant energy. In 2016, FL has released two full length projects, Fordson Labs EP and Dove Season, crediting in house production from The Cartier and guest production from Felly. During a breakout year along the East Coast in 2017, the group opened for Grammy nominated artist Soulja Boy and festival favorite pop group Cash Cash.
