The New River Valley Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists presents the program "Climate Change Impacts on Local Ecology" on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Room 155 Goodwin Hall on the campus of Virginia Tech.
The New River Valley Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists will be hosting Dr. Cassidy Rist speaking on Global Climate Change and how that is affecting flora and fauna in our local ecology including changes in diseases and how we can respond in the New River Valley.
Dr. Rist is an Assistant Professor in Population Health Sciences at Virginia Tech. She has a Masters in Public Health with an emphasis in Global Epidemiology from Emory University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She has had a varied work life, including working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the United States Department of Agriculture, before coming to Virginia Tech in 2016.
