Sinkland Farms continues the 28th Annual Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
The Pumpkin Festival is known as a family tradition and offers many family-friendly attractions for the young and young at heart including hayrides to the pumpkin fields, a brain-twisting corn maze, farmyard animals and live music on two stages every weekend.
Saturday, October 12th Special Events Schedule:
• All Day: Creative Expressions Face Painting ($3.00-$9.00)
• All Day: Blacksmith, Lasso, and Corn Shelling Demonstrations
• All Day: Ride-A-Rescue Horse Trail Ride ($12.00)
• All Day: Ed’s Carved and Painted Pumpkins
• All Day: Beer Tastings from Sinkland Farm Brewery
• All Day: Wine Tastings from New River Vineyard & Winery
• 1:00-4:00 pm: Live Scarecrow Appearance
• 1:00-4:00 pm: Music (Barn Stage)
• 1:00-4:00 pm: Music from Old Man Kelly (Back Porch Stage)
• 1:00-4:00 pm: Street Poems from Mark Petersen
• 1:30-3:00 pm: Pumpkin Head Tron Appearance
Mark Petersen is a poet and fiction writer who will be creating “street poems”, poems written on the spot based on a topic from the recipient. Each poem is unique and typed on a vintage typewriter.
Scarecrow, a live costumed scarecrow, wows the crowd by standing motionless making people think she’s just a regular scarecrow until she moves.
Admission price is $10.00 and $8.00 for seniors and military and free for children under 3.

Creative Expressions Face Painting ($3.00-$9.00) will be on-site every weekend along with Ed’s Carved and Painted Pumpkins and there will be blacksmith, chainsaw, and corn shelling demonstrations every Saturday and Sunday.
Extras include horseback trail rides ($12.00 a person), pony activities and beer & wine tastings. Pumpkins, gourds, squash, fall décor and some of Virginia's Finest products are for sale in the cottage shoppe. For snacks and food, there is kettle korn, ice cream, great home cooked food and a coffee bar with hot chocolate and apple cider. Food is individually priced.
New for 2019 is a Kidz Zip Line and Giants Slides which are $5.00 to ride all day.
Sinkland Farms has been rated the best pumpkin festival in the state, the best farm to visit in seven southern states and a Virginia top 10 epic wedding venue.
The annual Pumpkin Festival will continue for six weekends starting Friday, September 27th continuing though Sunday, November 3rd open on Fridays from 4:00-8:00 pm with limited attractions and no admission fee, Saturdays from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and on Sundays from 12:00-5:00 pm.
Parking is free and dogs are welcome on a leash.
