Science on Tap - New River Valley presents "What to Expect When You're Expecting Climate Change" on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Rising Silo Brewery in Blacksburg, VA.
Climate journalist and advice columnist Sara Peach will discuss some of the most interesting questions she's received. As senior editor at Yale Climate Connections, Sara Peach has been processing these questions in her work as a journalist covering climate change for the past 10 years. She started a climate advice column last year to discuss with her audience how climate change is affecting (or will affect) us and the people we love.
Sara's going to kick things off with a music performance demonstrating how much the climate has already changed in her lifetime. After her discussion, the floor will be open to ask your own questions.
Admission is free and open to the public. Food and drink are on your own.
Science On Tap New River Valley community celebrates scientific thought and explores new discoveries through monthly events with a featured researcher. We kick off the event with games, comedy, or other fun things. Then, an invited guest researcher demos their research. And then we'll discuss, ask questions, learn together, and mingle.
