Enjoy a very special night of music and dancing in the beautiful and intimate space at Anahata Education Center with live music by
Lobo Marino and I,Star. The event is a fundraiser for the Blue Ridge Mountain School.

Named after the enormous Pacific Sea Lion, Lobo Marino's brand of experimental folk draws from a rich palette of international and folk influences. Built primarily on harmonium, bass drum, banjo and various unique instruments and voices, Lobo Marino continues to evolve as the musical response to the continuous travels and ongoing spiritual journey of its members, Laney Sullivan and Jameson Price.

They are also the founders of Earth Folk Collective and Fonticello Food Forest in Richmond, VA. Deeply dedicated to environmental and social causes, when traveling they carry in their music a message of humanity's need for re-connection with the earth. While at home, they spend time community organizing and running their donation based educational homestead Earth Folk Collective.

From the heart of Appalachia, I,Star rises, encompassing a core fusion of husband-wife duo, MC/poet Truth-I Manifest’s potent lyrical flow, and singer and songwriter Aradhana Silvermoon’s angelic melodies I,Star’s performances are a dynamic interplay of hard-hitting poetics weaving between evocative refrains, building to harmonies in the hooks. Their wholly original “folk-hop” carriage bears powerful and relevant commentary on personal and global spiritual transformation, stewardship of the Earth, social justice, and visionary love. Currently based in Asheville, NC, and formerly, Los Angeles, CA, Aradhana and Truth-I released their first I,Star record, "Music and the Mood", in May 2011, the result of a six-month "honeymoon".

With soundscapes ranging from simplicity in Aradhana’s acoustic guitar to the complex layers of accompaniment and backbeat, I,Star inspires listeners to groove deeply and journey into their rich imagery. Displaying wide, genre-crossing versatility with influences of funk, world, reggae, rock, and electronic styles to accent their folk-hop essence, I,Star’s music has broad appeal to lovers of many flavors. In the constellation of progressive musical offerings, these luminaries shine brightly.
