New River Stage is hosting open auditions for their upcoming performance of "Oliver Twist" on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Christiansburg Library.

Join New River Stage as we travel back to 1830's London for auditions for our next production "Oliver Twist" with performances scheduled for March 7, 8, 13 and 14, 2020.

This faithful adaptation of Charles Dickens' second novel is an exciting, fast-moving melodrama about the adventures of an orphan redeemed from a life of cruel poverty and crime by an act of unselfish courage. Filled with an atmosphere of mystery, its major characters, Fagin, Bill Sikes, Mr. Bumble, Nancy, and the Artful Dodger, are some of the most theatrically realized characters in all of literature.

Auditions are open to adults and teens with one role available for a mature child (age 10+). All actors will play multiple roles with 13 spots available for actors. Please come prepared with a 1-minute dramatic monologue (does not need to be memorized) and ready to read from the show, play theater games and step out of your comfort zone.

Rehearsals will begin immediately after casting.
