Description:
Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. presents the Annual Holiday Trees and Gingerbread Houses Contest on display from Saturday, November 30, 2019 through Thursday, January 2, 2020 in the first floor Kent Square Lobby.

The Kent Square Lobby is transformed into a Winter Wonderland with decorated trees provided by downtown merchants and community groups along with the annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest to benefit Micah's Backpack.

Voting for your favorite tree and gingerbread house is available through Friday, December 20, 2019. Ballots are available on Kent Jewelers, located on the first floor of Kent Square, during their regular store hours. Kent Jewelers is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday hours are added from 12:00-5:00 pm.

Ballots are $1.00 each and include both your favorite tree and gingerbread house. After you make your decisions, return your ballot to Kent Jewelers for your chance to win Downtown Blacksburg Gift Certificates. All ballot proceeds will benefit Micah's Backpack, a local non-profit organization that addresses children's hunger issues through a partnership with the local schools.

The winning tree and gingerbread house will be announced Saturday, Dec 21st at 10:00 am at the Free Family Film Fest featuring the movie "Elf" at the Lyric Theatre. For more information, visit: http://www.nextthreedays.com/FeaturedEventDetails.cfm?E=529773.
