Description:
The Virginia Tech Perspective Gallery, located in the Squires Student Center, presents the Opening Reception for "Peaceful Ends: 2020 Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Art Exhibit" on Friday, January 24, 2020.
"Peaceful Ends" is the Perspective Gallery’s annual exhibit celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. and is created by regional children and teens in grades K–12.
Each year a quote by Dr. King is chosen as a prompt for inspiration. This year participants were challenged to create an artwork that reflected on Dr. King’s quote, “We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means…” (December 24, 1967), using the media of their choice. Schools participating created their own project so each classes’ interpretation is unique.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The exhibit runs from January 21 – February 29, 2020.
Gallery hours are Monday from 6:00-9:00 pm, Tuesday-Saturday from 12:00-9:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00-5:00 pm.
Perspective Gallery is located in the second floor gallery in Virginia Tech’s Squires Student Center at 290 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA.
