Enjoy live music by the Eric Gress Band, games, cash prizes, delicious food and more in this safe, socially-distanced, family-friendly event!

This has not been a normal year, and neither will this be a traditional derby race, it’s a Duck Pluck! Picture 5,000 rubber ducks scattered around the outfield, that will be plucked at random for your chance to win one of ten prize packs. Could you take home the grand cash prize of $1,500?

To enter, adopt one or more ducks, at $5.00 each. Visit the YMCA, participating locations, including Calfee Park events or visit https://www.duckrace.com/pulaski for ducks and more info. Additional prizes include over $500 in gift cards and merchandise from local businesses and an annual family membership to the YMCA.

The night kicks-off at 6:00 pm with a Home Run Derby. Adults compete to knock one out of the park, while kids age 17 and younger bat in a youth division, both for cash prizes. Cheer on these sluggers through exciting semi-finals, finals and an awards ceremony.

Advance registration is required for the Home Run Derby.

The YMCA is seeking sponsors for this event, as well as local businesses who would like to contribute to the prize packages. For more information, contact YMCA CEO Jessie Woods at 540-980-3671 or execdirymca@comcast.net.

Since 1947, the YMCA of Pulaski County has promoted youth development, healthy living and social responsibility in our community. As a non-profit, the YMCA relies on grants, donations, and fundraising events like the Duck Derby to continue to provide much-needed services.

COVID-19 has presented many challenges, but also many opportunities for the YMCA to better connect with and support the community: essential summer childcare, supply distribution and connection with seniors, hosting ACCES volunteers who receive free tuition at NRCC, and all-day-Wednesday and after school care at four Pulaski elementary schools. The YMCA hopes to expand its Bridging the Gap scholarship program, offer new Day Camps, and provide more programming and services in 2021. Fundraisers, like this second annual Duck Derby, can make these hopes a reality.
