Lyric Theatre and New River Stage presents the play "Three Sisters Dressed in Black" both in-person and online on Thursday, October 29, 2020.

"Three Sisters Dressed in Black" is a one-act play based on a true Christiansburg crime mystery and written by Anna Bond.

Mary Snead, Caroline Wardlaw Martin and Virginia Wardlaw lived in Christiansburg, Virginia in the early 1900s. They taught at the Montgomery Academy College for Women located on College Street. Their Aunt Ocena Seaborn Pollock operated the school for nearly 50 years.

The former Christiansburg Middle School was built on the same site. Generations of Christiansburg students, faculty and staff have seen the ghosts of the sisters walking the halls at the school. Black figures have been seen in the halls, lights mysteriously turned off and on, and sometimes a crying baby was heard. The play centers around the sensational murder trial in New Jersey where the Sisters were accused of murdering Ocey Martin Snead.

Admission is free however donations are encouraged.
