Description:
Science on Tap - New River Valley presents their March program "The Art, Science, and Politics of Breastfeeding" on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Rising Silo Farm Brewery.
About 140 million babies are born each year, and most of them begin life nourished by human milk. Join us to learn about this essential resource from a panel of breastfeeding experts, including a researcher studying the impact of milk on brain development, a pediatric nurse practitioner, a lactation consultant, and a researcher who studies the social and political forces at play in the world of infant feeding.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Science on Tap - New River Valley is a monthly event with science-inspired speakers, performers, and discussions. We support bringing science to our community and our community’s support to local research.
We kick off the event with games, comedy, or other fun things. Then, an invited guest researcher demos their research. And then we'll discuss, ask questions, learn together and mingle.
